Here's why:
The telephone network (PSTN) limits voice calls to a mere 4khz, at most,
for optimal network capacity reasons. VoIP, and the Internet don't
do this, and if the audio device being used for speech transmission is
capable of sending a "16khz" - 8khz voice bandwidth signal, this signal
is available to be sent across the network, providing the VoIP or Internet phone
application supports the bandwidth transmit & receive capacity.
The voice signal from the LOBE's headsets are beneficial even when the application
may not support this amount of voice bandwidth; the speech signal captured
from a 16khz sample contains more data and will render better dynamics;
the LOBE's voice reproduction is many more times accurate than
other commervially available wireless headsets presently in production
for either speech recognition, or, VoiP/Internet phone use.
Many of the VoIP applications, if not most that are available,
are SIP client (Wikipedia definition) based, and many will transmit and receive
far greater voice bandwidth than the PSTN offers.
